Embarking on its 6th year, the Ocean Drive 5K Run is a South Beach-infused, world-class running event that raises money for caner research and awareness. With more than 1000 runners last year, the run has become one of the most exhilarating and charitable events on Miami’s South Beach
One of the most populated and beautiful landmarks, Ocean Drive is shut down to the public in the peak of the season to form the most unique and picturesque oceanfront race course in the world.
The Ocean Drive 5K Run, which provides excitement and incentive for its sponsors and race participants, is the final heat in Florida’s 10-race running series which includes the world-famous ING Miami Marathon.
Dates/Time/Location
The 2008 event will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 8:30 am on world famous Ocean Drive. A post-race party will take place immediately following the 5K at South Beach’s renowned Nikki Beach.

Each registered participant will receive the following:

Timing & Scoring System
Race is chip timed, so results will be accurate. Please make sure you pick up your chip at the registration tents
Krieger Watches is the official timekeeper of the Ocean Drive 5K Run
Race starts on corner of Ocean Drive and South Pointe Drive, heads West to Alton Road then makes a right onto Jefferson Avenue. A right turn is made at 1st Street followed by a left hand turn onto Ocean Drive. There is a left-hand turnaround at 15th Street and the finish line is at 1st Street on Ocean Drive (adjacent to Nikki Beach).
Models/Cheering Section
In an effort to enhance the already gorgeous atmosphere of Ocean Drive, cheerleaders will be located throughout the race course to provide support and cheer on race participants.
